Synopsis

Explore the remarkable life of Selina Hastings, Countess of Huntingdon, in this detailed two-volume biography. Authored by a member of the Houses of Shirley and Hastings, this work delves into the life and times of a prominent figure in 18th-century British society and religious history.

Selina Hastings (1707-1791) was a key figure in the Calvinist Methodist movement and a patron of evangelical causes. This biography, originally published in parts, offers insights into her aristocratic background, her deep religious convictions, and her significant contributions to the spread of Methodism. Discover the world of privilege, faith, and influence that shaped the Countess of Huntingdon's extraordinary journey, as recounted by A.C.H. Seymour.
