An attractive VG two-volume set in a G- slipcase. Slipcase is heavily rubbed/chipped and lightly soiled with a split the length of the top. Green cloth bindings with gilt titles. Both volumes are square, clean and tight with no internal markings. No obvious wear to extremities on either volume. Front and rear endpapers are age toned on both volumes. Both volumes have previous owner bookplate on front pastedown and previous owner name and date of 1940 on ffep. Rear hinge is tender but still tight on volume one. Rear free endpaper has faint Oct 1960 stamp on verso. Same faint Oct 1960 stamp on verso of rear endpaper on volume two. VG+ green and black jacket on volume one. Jacket on volume two has a creased/lightly wrinkled closed tear near top corner on front panel. Small chip on foot of each jacket. Both volumes have $10.00 on bottom of front flap. Title page states Fourth Impression 1926, with no additional dates on copyrght page or in rear of book. However, the binding, jacket price and 1940 previous owner date suggest it is likely a later reprint. Seller Inventory # 331721
