About the Author: Joseph G. Meyer is the oldest son of Elder Jacob O. Meyer, a pioneer and leader of the Sacred Name Movement. By shadowing the elders all through his youth, he was able to know many of the early elders, and to relate stories from this interaction. Joseph graduated from Penn State University in 1976 with a B.S. in Education, Secondary Ed, Social Studies. His major was Reformation History and the history of Colonial American Religious freedoms. He worked for the Assemblies of Yahweh from 1976 through 1998 in almost every position. He graduated from Obadiah School of the Bible in 1978. He was ordained in the fall of 1978. He taught Biblical Couseling, New Testament Assembly History, and English in Obadiah School of the Bible. He served as Vice President of the Assemblies of Yahweh until 1998 when he resigned.
