Front port. sl. spotted; cutting at end. Orig. dark blue cloth, rubbed, inner hinges cracking. The son of the portrait painter, John Copley, Lord Lyndhurst, 1772-1863, was a celebrated advocate, involved in the early century treason trials, and afterwards Lord Chancellor three times.
