Farncombe Sons, Ltd, 1914 Condition: Good Description: A substantial early twentieth-century biographical work on Isaac Watts, the influential English hymn writer and theologian often regarded as the “Father of English Hymnody.” This third volume forms part of Thomas Wright’s detailed and scholarly account of Watts’ life and legacy. Illustrated with 50 plates, the volume combines biographical narrative with visual material, enhancing its appeal to both collectors and readers of religious history. This copy is in good condition. The original boards remain strong and structurally sound. The text block is notably clean, with little to no toning, and remains highly readable throughout. There is some displacement of pages resulting in slightly ragged or uneven fore-edge, though this does not affect the integrity of the text. A pencil ownership inscription is present on the front endpaper. A solid and attractive working copy of this illustrated theological biography, offering both scholarly value and period character despite minor cosmetic irregularities.…
