Rebacked preserving the original spine hard back binding in publisher's original tawny brown Roman and Greek decorated cloth covered boards, blocked and lettered gilt back, charcoal black end papers. 8vo. 9'' x 6½''. An examination of daily living in Ancient Greece and Rome based on archaeological remnants. Contains red and black printed title, (ix)-3, 620 pp + 40 pp publisher's catalogue dated May 1879 with 543 wood engraved illustrations throughout. Ink name to the top of the half-title, bumps to the corners and in Very Good sound and bright condition. Member of the P.B.F.A. GREECE (Ancient Greek).
