4 3/4 x 7 1/2", frontispiece of Fremont (foxed), vi, 356pp.; 13 wood engraved plates, including Kit Carson by J. W. Orr (p. 185) & Head Waters of the Sacramento (p. 151). Plates show some age darkening. Black, ribbed, blindstamped cloth with central floral designs, borders on covers, titles gilt on spine. Cover corners show slight wear, rubbing; scattered brown spotting to book edges; foxing to frontispiece, titlepage, prelims., some book margins. Several pencil & ink inscriptions of flyleaves: Henry C Wrights Book Geneva Ashtabula Ohio. A much better, & sounder copy than it sounds.
