Synopsis

Is man alone in the universe? What is the evidence for the existence of extra-terrestrial life? Are the space people encountered by "contactees" the hallucinations or inventions of human beings or do they perhaps represent a higher form of intelligence from some parallel universe to ours? Following on from "Modern Mysteries of Britain" and "Modern Mysteries of the World", the authors continue their inquiry into the unexplained with a presentation of the evidence (from the scientifically respectable to the bizarre) for the possibility of alien intelligence. The authors describe the search for extra-terrestrial intelligence being conducted in California and the use of space telescopes and radio astronomy to probe the galaxies. They examine the phenomenon of "flying saucers" and UFOs and discuss the reports of contactees and abductees, who claim to have conversed with aliens (sometime via telepathy or mediums). They also analyze the entities' messages (mostly warnings on the perils of nuclear pollution, which in turn may threaten the entire solar system).
