Paperback. Bears are fascinating animals that live in forests, mountains, grasslands, and even icy Arctic regions. They are omnivores, which means they eat both plants and animals. A bear's diet may include berries, nuts, roots, fish, insects, and small mammals. Bears spend much of their time searching for food to build up energy, especially before winter. Many bears hibernate during the colder months, resting in dens while their bodies use stored fat for survival. Although they are powerful and strong, bears are also intelligent and curious creatures. They have an excellent sense of smell, thick fur, sharp claws, and strong bodies that help them find food, climb, dig, and protect themselves. Bears usually prefer to live alone, but mothers carefully care for and protect their cubs until they are old enough to survive on their own. BEARS FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD ARE DISCOVERED AND TALKED ABOUT IN AN INFORMATIVE WAY TO TEACH KIDS THEIR HABITS, LIFESTYLE, AND GEOGRAPHICAL LANDSCAPES, FITTING EACH BEAR INTO ITS OWN UNIQUE SPACE IN TIME AND SPACE AMONGST ALL IN THE WORLD. This item is printed on demand. Shipping may be from multiple locations in the US or from the UK, depending on stock availability. …

The Life of a Bear
The Life of a Bear is a fun, educational introduction to one of the wild's most fascinating animals.
Bears live in forests, mountains, grasslands, and even icy Arctic regions. Young readers learn what bears eat - they are omnivores, eating both plants and animals - how they build up energy before winter, and how many bears hibernate through the colder months, resting in dens. They discover a bear's excellent sense of smell, thick fur, sharp claws, and strong body, and how mother bears carefully care for and protect their cubs until the cubs are old enough to survive on their own.
A rich first nature book for curious young readers who love animals and the great outdoors.
Written by Edwin H Rouse III, founder of Rouse House Books. For readers ages 0 to 10. Free printable teacher worksheets are available at RouseHouseBooks.com. The Life Of series continues with The Life of a Bird, The Life of a Dog, and The Life of a Ball.
