Minor edge and corner wear; no dj; lightly scuffed and scratched; corners are gently bumped and rubbed; ex-library with the usual library markings; overall a nice used copy! Blue boards with gilt lettering on the spine. 140 historical and magical pages! "In this book are assembled the more important reminiscential and critical writings which Thomas Hardy has had printed at various times. The first of these he wrote as long ago as 1865, six years before the appearance of his earliest novel; the last in 1923. In length, they range from brief epistolary paragraphs to extend and carefully worked out essays; in scope, they cover personal reactions to problems of philosophy, art and literature.".
