The contents are as follows: The Babe of the Log Cabin and His Kin; The New Home and the First Grief; Reading by the Firelight - The New Mother - The First Dollar; The Slave Sale - Lincoln as Soldier, Postmaster, Surveyor, and Lawyer; Leader for Freedom - Law Maker; Lincoln and Douglas; The People Ask Lincoln to be their President; In the Presidential Chair - The Civil War Begins; Early Battles of the War; Grant Wins in the West, and Farragut at New Orleans; Antietam, Vicksburg, Gettysburg; Chattanooga, Chickamauga, Lookout Mountains - Lincoln's Gettysburg Speech; Grant in the East; Lincoln Chosen for Second Term; Return of Peace - Lincoln Shot - His Burial at Springfield. Condition: Soiling to the covers. Cloth tears at the top and bottom edges of the spine, and at the cover corners. A small bit of cloth has torn away near the top-left corner of the spine. There is a small crack at the top of the front hinge between the frontispiece and title page resulting in the front cover being a bit shaky. The back cover is firmly attached. A few random, small light stains/smudges were found.otherwise the pages are clean. Tanning to the front and rear end papers. The front end paper has an inscription written in ink dated 1918. Overall the book is in Good- condition.
