The Library of Historic Characters and Famous Events of All Nations and All Ages Volumes II, IV–XI (9-Volume Set) J. B. Millet, Boston – 1900 ✨ A TRUE TURN-OF-THE-CENTURY COLLECTOR’S SET ✨ Offered here is an exceptionally, extremely scarce 9-volume set (Volumes 2, 4–11) of The Library of Historic Characters and Famous Events of All Nations and All Ages, published in 1900 by J. B. Millet of Boston. This is the TESTIMONIAL EDITION, a strictly limited printing of only 1,000 numbered sets worldwide — created for subscribers and patrons at the dawn of the 20th century. Sets of this caliber were never mass-produced, and surviving examples are becoming increasingly difficult to find, especially in multi-volume groupings. 🏛️ ABOUT THE WORK This monumental series presents richly written historical narratives covering: Ancient civilizations and empires Legendary rulers, conquerors, and statesmen Religious, political, and military history Key moments that shaped Western and world history Each volume is lavishly illustrated with photogravure plates, reproduced from famous paintings and authentic portraits by noted artists — a hallmark of high-quality publishing from this era. 📖 SET DETAILS Volumes Included: II, IV through XI (9 volumes total) Edition: Testimonial Edition Publication Year: 1900 Publisher: J. B. Overall, the set presents well for its age, but honest wear should be expected. Observed condition characteristics across the set may include: Some hinge splitting or interior hinge stress General age-related discoloration and toning Fading to cloth covers and spine panels Shelf wear to edges and corners Rippling of cover or inner cover Light staining or faint darker staining in areas Occasional smooth, non-sticky, old adhesive-type marks consistent with early repairs or library handling Heavy wear to spine labels, including chipping, loss, or partial separation 👉 Important: Not every volume exhibits every issue listed above. Some volumes are cleaner than others, but all are original and unrestored, retaining their authentic antique character. IMPORTANT - Please review all photos carefully—they are part of the description and accurately reflect condition. This volume is sold as-is due to age and returns are not accepted due to the publication's fragility.…
