The Library Atlas of the World. Chi: Rand McNally & Company, 1912, two volumes. *** The aim of this Atlas is to provide a thoroughly useful and accurate geographic reference work. Designed especially to meet varies needs, the work covers a large amount of geographic information. As such it is an invaluable aid to the student of geography, a useful ally for the busy man of affairs, and an accurate guide for the traveler and explorer. Published near the end of an era in western civilization with the cataclysm of the Great War (World War I) just two years in the future. The political map of Europe will be redrawn, and many colonies will change hands. *** Volume I is the United States with a double-page map of each state plus double-page maps of many large cities. Each state map has its own gazetteer and a table of railroads serving the state. Also maps of the north and south polar regions, U.S. possessions, and other stuff. *** Volume II is Foreign Countries with double-page maps of continents and countries, and full-page larger scale maps of selected regions. *** All maps have bright lithographic colors with blank versos. *** Bound in dark brown morocco leather boards with dark brown cloth spines. Front covers and spines have stamped gold lettering and decorative blind stamping in corners. Covers have light soil, edges worn with moderate chipping, other minor cosmetic blemishes. The contents are complete in good bindings, mostly clean with light soil to front blanks. A few maps have short closed tears on bottom edges of margins that have been repaired on verso with archival tape. The maps all have the original bright colors. There is a large chip in the fore edge of the Contents page in Vol. I with no loss of information. The Alaska map has several vertical creases. There is a vertical fold in the middle of the Ontario map in Vol. II. Terms of sale
An item will be accepted for return if, and only if, its varies significantly
from its description. It must be in the same condition that it was when
it left our store. It must be postmarked seven days or less from time of delivery.
Items lost or damaged in the mails are not our responsibility. That is why
insurance was invented. Shipping costs are to be paid by the buyer.
A “heads up” by email would be appreciated so that we can BOLO.
Right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer you can withdraw from the contract in accordance with the following. Consumer means any natural person who is acting for purposes which are outside his trade, business, craft or profession.
Information regarding the right of withdrawal
Statutory right to withdraw
You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason.
The withdrawal period will expire after 14 days from the day on which you acquire, or a third party other than the carrier and indicated by you acquires, physical possession of the last good or the last lot or piece.
To exercise the right of withdrawal, electronically fill in and submit a clear statement on our website, under "My Purchases" in "My Account". We will communicate to you an acknowledgement of receipt of such a withdrawal on a durable medium (e.g. by e-mail) without delay.
To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.
Effects of withdrawal
If you withdraw from this contract, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (except for the supplementary costs arising if you chose a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us).
We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied, if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you.
We will make the reimbursement without undue delay, and not later than 14 days after the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw from this contract.
We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement.
We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back, or you have supplied evidence of having sent back the goods, whichever is the earliest.
You shall send back the goods or hand them over to Old Paper Old Ink, Murray, Kentucky, U.S.A., without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which you communicate your withdrawal from this contract to us. The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the period of 14 days has expired. You will have to bear the direct cost of returning the goods. You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from the handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.
Exceptions to the right of withdrawal
The right of withdrawal does not apply to:
- The delivery of newspapers, journals or magazines with the exception of subscription contracts; and
- The supply of digital content which is not supplied on a tangible medium (e.g. on a CD or DVD) if you accepted when you placed your order that we could start to deliver it, and that you could not withdraw once delivery had started.
Shipping terms
Shipping charges reflect, as close as possible, actual costs. There are no
handling fees. All orders include a tracking number. Packing is done in
a professional manner to ensure your purchase's safe arrival. Insurance
is available at your option. USPS rates apply. If ordering more than one
item at a time, you can contact us for a combined shipping rate that will
probably save you money. For items to be shipped outside the U.S. the
buyer must contact us for a quote.
