Print on Demand. This fascinating book presents a compelling glimpse into the private life of Jean-Jacques Rousseau, the renowned philosopher, through an intimate collection of previously unpublished letters he exchanged with Madame Boy de la Tour, his benefactor. Spanning the years 1762-1773, these letters reveal an unguarded and vulnerable side of the great thinker, providing valuable insights into his personal struggles, intellectual pursuits, and complex relationships. Delving beyond Rousseau's philosophical musings, this book unveils the intimate details of his daily life, from his peculiar dietary habits and clothing choices to his quarrels with neighbors and the challenges of managing his household. Through these letters, we witness Rousseau's profound gratitude towards Madame Boy de la Tour, whose unwavering support and kindness sustained him during some of his darkest days. The book not only humanizes one of history's most influential philosophers but also sheds light on the social and cultural landscape of 18th-century Europe, making it an invaluable resource for scholars and general readers alike. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.…
