Add to basketx; 84pp plus 16 full-page colour illustrations, all protected by tissue-guards, by the author; the guard to the illustration between pages 66 and 67 is loose. An account, written in letter form to her mother, of the author's travels in the Holy Land in the 1890's. Light blue boards with gilt block titles to front board and to spine; spine darkened. Two small dark stains to front board which are only apparent when the book is held to the light. Top page-edges gilt and pages unevenly cut. Many pages are affected by foxing which, for the most part, is to the margins, leaving the text untouched. This is the first reprint, dated July 1906, of the book initially published in March 1903.
