Synopsis:

A collection of letters written through the ages from historical figures who have been incarcerated, including Anne Boleyn, Bertrand Russell, Sylvia Pankhurst and Al Capone.

About the Authors: James Drake is an entrepreneur, philanthropist, and Founder at Of Lost Time, an innovative literary unit which uncovers the hidden stories of the past through the power of personal correspondence. When James is not trawling through historical letters, he is seeking to improve the health and welfare of people impacted by head injuries through his Drake Foundation, and supporting the next generation of exceptional musicians through his Drake Calleja Trust.

Edward Smyth is a writer, editor and professional fundraiser. He holds under- and post-graduate degrees in music, and an MA in theology, from Durham University and a further master's degree in criminology from Oxford. Edward is the Chair of Sing Inside, a small charity delivering singing workshops in prisons, and is Head of Development at the Prison Reform Trust.

Jonathan Aitken is a former MP and cabinet minister. He is now an author, biographer and broadcaster.

In 1995, the court found him guilty of perjury in a celebrated case against the Guardian newspaper and he spent 18 months in Belmarsh Prison. He subsequently studied theology at Oxford and in 2019, he was ordained an Anglican priest. He is now a full-time prison chaplain in London.

He is the author of an award-winning biography of President Richard Nixon and has written a number of critically acclaimed books for Bloomsbury Continuum - including a bestselling life of Margaret Thatcher (2013).
