Paperback. This book bears the Imprimatur, the official seal of the Catholic Church, indicating that it has been approved as free from doctrinal error and suitable for the growth of faith. The words contained in this book are addressed to those who wish to love the Lord with the devotion of being in love-those who seek Him sincerely, not only in the tasks of everyday life, but beyond them, in the deeper recesses of the soul. It is written for those who genuinely long to draw closer to God, as it seeks to shed light on the eternal and to bring the infinite closer to the finite through reflections expressed with reverence by those closest to God. This is not an academic, descriptive or historical book. Rather, its pages gently clarify certain mistaken ideas and beliefs common today that have left many confused, guiding the reader towards the essential question: How can one attain a truly personal experience of God? The sources of inspiration for this work are Sacred Scripture, the tradition of the Catholic Church, and the revelations granted by God to His saints. References are made to Saint Faustina Kowalska, the Venerable Sister Maria de Jesus of Agreda, Saint Catherine of Genoa, Saint Louis Grignion de Montfort, Saint Bridget of Sweden, Saint Catherine of Siena, Saint Gemma Galgani, Saint Alphonsus Maria Liguori, Saint Therese of Lisieux, Sister Mary Martha Chambon, Saint John of the Cross, Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich, Saint Teresa of Avila, Saint Hildegard of Bingen, and others. The book also includes several quotations revealed by the Lord to the Servant of God Luisa Picarreta, whose cause for beatification is currently under consideration by the Vatican.
