Lecithin for health... The soya bean has proved to be a ‘wonder’ plant – providing a source of protein, vitamins and essential oils. And yet another of its derivatives, lecithin, is acknowledged as a nutrient with amazing properties in ensuring good health. First, lecithin is an extremely effective fat fighter. It brings new hope to those suffering from heart trouble by controlling the potential killer, cholesterol, and preventing it from building up in the coronary arteries. It can even ‘softer’ the thickened arteries which may threaten such lethal consequences. And, of course, it is a natural food, with none of the disturbing side effects of heart drugs. Amongst its other benefits, lecithin is a remarkable aid to reducing weight. It gets to work on the body’s ‘depot’ fat, the stored fat which causes those lumps and bulges the slimmer longs to shed and helps it to melt away! It is essential that the body ahs the plentiful supply it needs of this invaluable nutrient, and Paul Simons explains how this can be ensured, through foods in our diet or lecithin supplements. Can we afford to neglect this ‘natural wonder’?
