Forget raking this fall. Some of the best backyard magic happens in the leaf pile you didn't clean up.

The Leaves Go Crunch Crunch is a playful, rhythmic read-aloud that invites kids to chant along with every turn of the page. As fallen leaves crunch and crackle, a parade of backyard creatures reveal themselves in their own sounds and motions, from a snail's slow shlip shlop to a moth's soft flip flap.

• A rhythmic, sing-song text kids will want to repeat again and again
• Real backyard creatures who shelter in leaf piles: snails, moths, and more
• Vibrant, hand-illustrated artwork from an award-winning artist and author
• A gentle first lesson in why "messy" leaves are actually a home for wildlife

The leaves go crunch crunch. The snail goes shlip shlop. The leaves go crunch crunch. The moth goes flip flap.
This is a story built for repeat read-alouds, the kind of book kids ask for by heart, and one that quietly teaches them to see their backyard as a home for someone else too.
