It is a language which is especially suited to problem solving by novices since it facilitates the early acquisition of features which are generally left to a later stage when learning other versions of Pascal. With the increasing use of IBM PC and compatible microcomputers in schools, colleges and universities, students now have greater opportunities to sample Turbo Pascal and discover its potential, and will therefore be more highly motivated to learn it. Although a range of books on Turbo Pascal is available, there is nevertheless, scope for a book which lets students acquire a working knowledge of the language without the need to understand or apply difficult concepts. This book therefore closely follows the approach adopted in "Pascal on the BBC Microcomputer", using many of the examples.
