nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - Jennifer Ashford has survived the streets, the violence, and the man who nearly took her life. Now, for the first time, she's safe. But safety brings its own kind of fear.Living with Jerry in a sunlit Los Angeles apartment, Jennifer must learn to exist beyond survival. Her body is healing, her scars are softening, and her life is finally her own, but the past never lets go easily. Panic still waits in quiet rooms. The mirror still asks hard questions. And love, real love, isn't as simple as being saved. As Jennifer begins her medical transition and takes her first steps toward surgical affirmation, she discovers that healing is not a straight path. It's a series of rituals and reckonings; scar care and hormone doses, laughter with new friends, panic in doctor's offices, joy that sneaks up when she least expects it. Alongside Jerry's steadfast love and Maya's bright friendship, Jennifer faces the slow, beautiful work of becoming whole, body, heart, and spirit. The Shape of Healing is a story about rebuilding after trauma, about claiming joy after years of survival, and about learning that love is not rescue, it's partnership. It's for every trans woman who has fought to be seen, and for every reader who believes that healing, however imperfect, is worth the fight.…
