Comparable Heritage Press sets are catalogued by AbeBooks as the 1952 New York issues. Condition: Very Good books in Poor original slipcases. The books themselves present well, with attractive boards, sound bindings, and clean interiors. Light shelf wear and rubbing are present, but the volumes remain solid and visually appealing. Both original black publisher’s slipcases are included. The slipcases are in Poor condition, showing substantial edge wear, fraying, splitting/separation, and loss to the covering material, particularly at the top edges and corners. Store description
Bartleby’s Collectibles is an independent online bookseller based in New York City, specializing in signed and numbered editions, fine-press publications, modern first editions, illustrated literary works, artist collaborations, distinctive presentation editions, and other books of particular interest to collectors. Our inventory is deliberately selective rather than comprehensive. We are especially drawn to books that unite literary significance with exceptional design and craftsmanship: limited editions, letterpress printing, fine bindings, original artwork, decorative cases, and volumes produced in collaboration with notable writers, illustrators, designers, and artists. Every listing represents the actual copy being offered. Edition points, signatures, limitation numbers, accompanying materials, bindings, dust jackets, slipcases, presentation boxes, and other relevant features are identified as precisely as possible. Condition is described carefully and conservatively, with scratches, bumps, rubbing, fading, tears, missing components, or other noteworthy imperfections disclosed rather than obscured. Additional photographs or information are always available upon request. Books are stored in a nonsmoking environment. Each order is packed carefully and appropriately for the particular volume, with special attention given to fragile, oversized, slipcased, and high-value editions. Valuable shipments are insured and may require signature confirmation. We understand that collectible books are more than interchangeable copies of a title. Buyers are selecting a specific physical object, often one that is scarce, individually numbered, signed, or difficult to replace. Our goal is therefore straightforward: accurate representation, responsive communication, careful handling, and the safe delivery of each book in the condition described. …
