Add to basketDr. Tameika McKnight has built an empire on precision, discipline, and absolute control. As a brilliant healthcare executive and mother, she commands her life and her multi-million-dollar dental clinics with an unyielding hand. But behind the polished mahogany and corporate success lies a rotting foundation: her husband, Winston, whose staggering arrogance, financial recklessness, and blatant infidelities have pushed their marriage to the breaking point.
When Winston trades his family for a younger, reckless mistress named Abbi, he believes he holds all the cards. He thinks Tameika is blind to his betrayals, helpless against his manipulation, and entirely disposable.
He couldn't be more wrong.
What Winston doesn't realize is that Tameika isn't just playing his game-she is orchestrating an entirely different match. Every explosive argument, every late-night betrayal, and every violent outburst is meticulously logged, recorded, and weaponized. While Winston spirals into a frantic, criminal downward spiral, Tameika stays three moves ahead, turning his own vices into the very trap that will destroy him.
When a brutal midnight murder shatters the Texas elite, the pieces fall precisely where Tameika planned. With Winston locked away in a concrete box, his mistress erased from the registries, and her children safely insulated from the wreckage, Tameika steps out of the shadow of a toxic marriage and into the glaring light of absolute, untouchable power.
The Last Chess Move is a chilling, masterclass psychological thriller about a woman who refused to be a victim, took the board back, and checkmated the world
Stormy McKnight is a Texas-based storyteller and the visionary behind a growing collection of intense, character-driven narratives that peel back the layers of duty, legacy, and the secrets we keep to survive. From the high-stakes balancing act of Jazzy to the sprawling, tension-filled worlds of Along Came Smitty, Blood Ties, Paid in Blood, and Deacon Fred, Stormy writes stories for readers who value raw emotional honesty over easy answers.
With an unwavering commitment to exploring the "truth, even the parts that burn," Stormy constructs intricate landscapes where the lines between professional ambition and personal morality are permanently blurred. Whether dissecting the complexities of family or the cost of success, these novels are written for those who appreciate a narrative that is as relentless as it is human.
