Mark Plotnick has left his past life behind him. Few would suspect that the successful, staid Washington, DC, lawyer is a former Mossad agent. His work with Israel’s secret service taught him a number of skills he has never had to rely on in the courtroom. They will, however, be put to good use in the adventure ahead.
Mark is called into the action when his son is accused of bombing a Doctors Without Borders hospital in Aleppo, Syria, with a US drone. Lt. Jesse Plotnick was the drone’s pilot but swears that it was hacked remotely. Mark believes his son, even if the US military does not. He vows to find the hacker and clear Jesse’s name.
To help him, Mark calls on an old ally from his Mossad days, an assassin searching desperately for redemption. The two travel the world to find the elusive hacker and the people behind it all. Their investigations will point them in the direction of America’s greatest enemies. The men have seen too much of the cruelty and brutality of the world to be surprised by anything, but the true villains behind the terrorist plot will shock them both.
A create space editor said: "The Last Assassination" is a thriller that offers a fascinating and engaging story about politics and exploitation. I liked the political subject matter and its timeliness, and appreciate how you don't allow the political angle of the story to become too cynical. The characters are developed and interesting, and I never felt myself bored or confused during my time reading and editing the text.James E. Doucette is a US Navy veteran and entrepreneur. He joined the navy at the age of seventeen. After he left the service, he studied at Pace College and began a career in banking and cable television. Within fifteen years, Doucette was the president of a major cable television company.
Doucette left the corporate world and founded Cablevision of Texas. He built and sold cable TV systems to small communities all over the United States, and he purchased the First National Bank of Lockney and three other local banks. In 1998, he transitioned from businessman to cattle rancher. Doucette now spends his time writing, is a member of Lockney's American Legion and is a "book buddy" for second graders. He and his wife, Denise, spend their time traveling and spending time together at their ranch.
