The Last 48 Hours: The Aftermath from a Parent’s Perspective offers a poignant and deeply moving fictional account inspired by real events. The novel chronicles the heartbreaking journey of Lawrence and Stacey, losing their son Ross to cancer. This heartfelt novel invites readers into Ross's most intimate and excruciating final days, sharing the emotional and spiritual turmoil that followed his passing.
As Lawrence struggles to balance his faith and grief, and Stacey wrestles with her own pain and disbelief, their story becomes one of love, faith, and resilience in the face of unimaginable loss. Through alternating perspectives, they candidly reveal their personal challenges, spiritual doubts, and the unwavering hope that sustains them, even as their world is turned upside down.
This novel is not just a story of loss but a guide for other grieving parents, offering insights and wisdom on how to manage the emotional, spiritual, and practical aspects of such a profound loss. Lawrence and Stacey’s journey offers comfort and guidance to anyone who has faced the loss of a loved one, affirming that while grief may never fully fade, love and faith can help navigate the darkest of days.
With a foreword by Dr. Percy Johnson, LMFT, along with the afterword by Dr. Faye Weems-Singleton, LMFT, ThD because they both are ordained ministers and psychotherapists, it allowed their words to delve into the psychological, theological, and spiritual challenges faced by parents coping with the death of a child.
Readers will find a compassionate companion for their own journeys through grief and a beacon of hope that healing is possible, even in the face of unimaginable sorrow.
