In the quiet English village of King's Abbot, life is shattered by the brutal murder of Roger Ackroyd, a wealthy man found dead in his locked study. Just before his death, he had received a letter threatening to expose a dangerous secret. With the police baffled and the villagers whispering about scandal, only one man seems capable of unravelling the truth-Hercule Poirot. Though retired, the brilliant detective is drawn into the case, where every suspect harbors secrets and every clue twists the story further.
First published in 1926, The Murder of Roger Ackroyd revolutionized detective fiction with its daring narrative twist. Agatha Christie challenged the conventions of storytelling, introducing a shocking revelation that sparked debate about fairness and misdirection in mystery writing. The novel cemented Christie's reputation as a master of suspense, influencing generations of crime writers and redefining the boundaries of the genre.
