What secrets lie in the ancient pages of a text once lost to history? The Book of Enoch unveils a dramatic vision of angels, judgment, and the fate of humanity. Traditionally attributed to Enoch, the great-grandfather of Noah, the work is divided into several sections, each offering a glimpse into divine mysteries. The Book of the Watchers recounts the fall of rebellious angels who descend to Earth, intermarry with human women, and father the Nephilim-giant beings whose corruption leads to God's decree of the Great Flood. Other sections, including the Book of Parables and the Astronomical Book, expand on cosmic order, divine justice, and prophetic visions of the Messiah's reign. Through it all, Enoch emerges as a chosen scribe, entrusted with revelations that bridge the human and the divine.
Historically, The Book of Enoch stands as one of the earliest apocalyptic texts, deeply shaping Jewish and early Christian thought. Though excluded from the Hebrew Bible, it influenced New Testament writers and remains part of the Ethiopian Orthodox canon. Its vivid depictions of angels, divine judgment, and the end times established enduring themes in apocalyptic literature, echoing across centuries of theology and prophecy.
