Paperback. Four souls woven from the past. A world unravelling in the present. A betrayal written in the stars. The Age of Mortals is faltering. The tapestry of reality is fraying, consumed by a creeping violet rot known as the Blight-a force of pure Chaos that does not merely kill, but unmakes existence itself. In a desperate bid to hold back the dark, an ethereal entity named Lallith acts. She does not summon armies; she weaves four champions from the threads of history, birthing them into a sealed chamber with no memory of who they were, only a burning purpose: Mend the broken world. Meet the Party They awaken as strangers, bound by a psychic link and a lethal set of skills they cannot explain: Herc: A stoic Paladin and hulking bulwark of the Light, whose muscle memory recalls the command of legions even when his mind cannot.Walin: A scholarly Priest clutching a mysterious pink orb, balancing the mercy of a healer with the terrifying, latent power of an Arch-mage.Gallipski: A sharp-tongued Halfling Rogue with a penchant for loot and a pair of sentient, bloodthirsty daggers named Reginald and Rafael that whisper promised violence in his mind.Lief: An Elven Druid who shares a soul-deep bond with a massive timber wolf, Sorren, and wields the shapeshifting wrath of the wild. The Journey Thrust immediately into a fight for survival, the fellowship's first test leaves Herc infected by a Red Slaad-implanting a chaotic parasite in his chest that threatens to turn their greatest defender into a monster. What begins as a quest for a cure becomes a perilous ascent up the frozen, razor-sharp peaks of the Dragon's Tooth. Here, amidst ancient elemental trials and the fires of a dormant volcano, the truth of their creation is violently revealed. They are not mere adventurers. They are the resurrected legends of the First Era-General Baelor the Justiciar, Henderic the Merciful Hammer, Oakbinder the Primal, and the Vengeful Death. The True Enemy Armed with their returned memories and enhanced by the mountain's magic, the champions descend to face the source of the Blight: a bone-colored fortress rising from a graveyard of dust. But the cultists and demons they slaughter are merely puppets. When Herc touches the ominous obsidian spire at the fortress's heart, a vision reveals a foe far more personal and terrifying than simple Chaos. The face of the enemy is the face of his lost love, Lyandra-now twisted into the horrifying Lich Queen. As the lines between creator and destroyer blur, and the entity within Walin's orb screams a final, chilling accusation at their creator, the champions realize that their resurrection may not be a salvation, but a desperate gamble in a cosmic war they are only beginning to understand. Perfect for fans of classic D&D campaigns, epic progression fantasy, and the team dynamics of The Legend of Vox Machina, Lallith's Folly: Chaos Returns is a thunderous opening chapter in a saga of magic, memory, and retribution.
