DESCRIPTION: 1912 issue of White Star Magazine (Detroit), a promotional travel publication for White Star Line steamers operating excursion trips on the Great Lakes/river route between Detroit and Toledo and between Detroit and Port Huron, with references to Lake Erie, Lake St. Clair, and the St. Clair River. Contains the feature “Through Lakes and Rivers on White Star Line Steamers” by Judson Grenell (title page dated 1912). Well illustrated with period photographs and travel scenes; includes a coloUr route map ("Map of the White Star Line Route") and a 1912 Summer Time Table. Period advertising throughout (e.g., Hotel Cadillac, Newcomb-Endicott Co.). A handsome piece of Great Lakes steamship / Detroit transportation ephemera with strong cover art. CONDITION: Good (ephemera). Covers show moderate rubbing/soiling, edge wear, corner creasing, and small handling marks; spine area soft/rolled with staple/binding stress (typical for travel brochures of this period). Top right corner of text block pages are bent. Interior generally clean and unmarked with light age-toning. Staples showing at front and end hinges. Fore-edge of leaves gently curled from handling.
