Item description from seller

At the turn of the century, Littig & Company commissioned the accomplished artist Richard Rummell (1848-1924) to create watercolors of some of the nation's most prestigious colleges. From these watercolors, copper-plates were engraved and a limited number of pulls (engravings) were distributed. This aerial of Lafayette is large, in color, and was issued circa 1976. Unlike other college views of the period, the Rummell plates are glorious panoramic views of the entire campus. Art historians speculate that since the views appear to be drawn from an altitude of about 300 ft., it is likely that the artist worked from a balloon. Arader Galleries has commissioned a master printer to pull a limited number of restrikes from these original copper-plates of college views. Printed on heavy wove paper, t . Displaying 750 of 1916 characters.
