The stories translated in this volume have been chosen from an early fifteenth century manuscript of Le Fatiche d'Ercole, a fanciful account of the Labors of Hercules by Pietro Andrea di Bassi. The handsome illuminated manuscript belongs to Philip Hofer collection at the Houghton Library of Harvard University. The book was designed by Giovanni Mardersteig using his own typeface, Monotype Dante and printed by his son Martino in the Stamperia Valdonega, Verona, Italy. Seller Inventory # 008875
