Olive green cloth over beveled boards with gilt letters on the front cover and the spine and with a vignette in silver on the front cover of the White House and also on the front cover in gilt and black of a log cabin beside a stream with waterfall, mountains and moon in the background. Minor wear to extremities with a couple of corners just barely worn through, top and bottom of spine just beginning to fray, silver and gilt vignettes on front cover bright, gilt letters on spine bright, frontispiece engraving of Garfield has just touches of foxing, tissue guard intact but with foxing spots, textblock very slightly shaken, gift inscription in pencil, else very good to near fine with no internal markings.
