Few 20th century writers like Miguel Hernández felt so acutely the anxiety of influence. This, together with his genius, led him in little more than ten years to place himself at the forefront of the poetry of his time. In this process he had a series of literary models, which he read and transformed in the way that best suited his lyrical worldview. This is the justification for this collective volume, where the best specialists analyse Miguel Hernández's relationship with his great masters: the classical tradition, Saint Juan de la Cruz, Lope de Vega, Góngora, Quevedo, Juan Ramón Jiménez, Gabriel Miró, Ramón Sijé, Federico GarcÃa Lorca, Vicente Aleixandre and Pablo Neruda.
