This book is a must have for anyone interested in the now extinct Puffer trade. It was written by someone who participated and is considered an expert on the history of the Clyde Puffer. This is a fascinating account of the puffer trade from its roots in the 1850s to its controversial and sudden demise in 1993. The story includes details of the everyday life of the puffers and their crews and some real 'Para Handy' tales. Illustrated with many black and white photographs from private collections, some published here for the first time. Ref O2.
