This copy is in fine unmarked condition, bright, white, tight and square bound in terracotta cloth covered boards with a decoration by the artist. The bright gilt title to a black calf panel to the spine There is a silk headband and coloured endpapers. The book is encased in its original robust, sand paper covered slipcase which has some spotting to the bottom edge. This is the Life and the Strange Adventures of Robinson crusoe of York, mariner who lived eight and twenty years all amone in an uninhabited island on the coast of America near the mouth of the Great River of Oroonoque having been cast on shore by shipwreck wherein all the men perished but himself with an account how he was at last as strangely deliver'd by Pyrates written by himself.
