Neuware - Somewhere along the way, you were sorted, a grade, a comment, a subject that clicked for someone else but never for you and from that handful of moments, a quiet verdict got filed away about the kind of learner you are. Most of it was never actually true. 99 Lies About Education & School takes apart the beliefs about intelligence, grades, studying, and success that were shaped by how school happens to be structured, not by how learning actually works. That you're either a 'math person' or you're not. That cramming works as well as spacing things out. That a bad grade means you didn't try hard enough. That struggle means you're just not smart enough for this. One by one, each belief is named, traced back to why it felt true in the first place, and replaced with what learning science actually shows. Organized into 11 chapters covering intelligence, grades and testing, study methods, homework habits, memory, motivation, teachers, college and career prep, failure, comparison, and the deeper purpose of school itself, this book stays deliberately neutral across school systems, countries, and educational philosophies, the goal isn't to sell you one right way to learn, it's to show you which of your beliefs about learning were never actually tested at all. Each of the 99 entries follows the same shape: the lie, why it took hold, and the truth that replaces it, because understanding \*why\* a belief felt convincing is what keeps it from quietly running your decisions again. Every chapter closes with a five-question 'Test Yourself' quiz, and the back matter includes a rapid-fire Myth vs. Truth cheat sheet pulled from the book's most useful entries. Written for students, parents, and educators alike, this book gives you permission to stop treating school's structure as a verdict on your ability and to start learning the way learning actually works. Read start to finish, or open straight to the chapter that stings tonight.…
