For many decades it was thought that emotions had no place in the work world; the ideal leader was one who approached problems rationally and without emotion. However, the reality is that emotion is inevitable. It turns out that, if used effectively, a leader's mood and emotions can become an advantage. This book describes how 25 outstanding leaders used their emotional intelligence to face challenges and critical moments. With comments from the managers themselves, Emotional Leadership helps managers and leaders to better understand not only what emotional intelligence is, or how to measure it, but also how to use it in real life situations. The book brings together the experiences of leaders in nine areas that can help us be more effective. Each chapter concludes with a series of activities to apply the strategies.
