The ink stamp of The Baltimore Sun: Hong Kong Bureau appears on most issues. Bound compilation of 25 issues (5 are double-number issues) of Strong's Letter from China newsletter, concluding with the In Memoriam issue. Number 61-62 is supplied in facsimile. Strong (1885-1970) was an American journalist and activist, best known for her reporting on and support for communist movements in the Soviet Union and the People's Republic of China. Beginning in 1962, she published Letters from China in which she and other U.S. expats in China praised Chinese socialism. Quarto. Full brown buckram binding, with gilt-stamped titles and borders.
