PROOF COPY OF FIRST EDITION. Small 8vo. 7.25 x 4.25 inches. 136 pp. Proof copy in grey limp card wrapper with black title. Spine sunned and a little foxing at beginning and end; otherwise a very good copy. Proof copy of the first edition of play based on the life of the famous nurse, Florence Nightingale (1820-1910). It is dedicated to Edith Evans, who starred in the title role. The author, Reginald Berkeley (1890-1935) served on the Western Front, was a Liberal politician, who was MP for Nottingham Centre, 1922-24 and a dramatist.
