From the Publisher
namely Yuga Avatar (1995), Life and Times of Netaji Subhas (1897-1921): The
seeds of a Vedantic Revolutionary (2000), retitled as Life and Times of
Netaji Subhas: From Cuttack to Cambridge (1897-1921) Hardback and Paperback
(2001), Netaji Subhas Confronted the Indian Ethos (1900-21) Hardback
(2003). Now, in 2006, we have launched Understanding India Series. Our
first title is: Is knowledge of Buddhism essential for human survival? It
will be followed by three more titles in paperback, namely (i) India Travel
Guide: Spiritual Tourism and Ground Realities, (ii) Global Friendship
Through Himalayan Heritage, (iii) India: Mystic, Complex and Real.
Since 1993, with the coming of multinationals (MNC) in India, not only
India, but, the world has changed now. There is a new emergent global human
society which Dr Ganguly anticipated in his second major work Vedanta
Philosophy for Unity of Mankind published in 1995 by Vikas, New Delhi.
He dedicated the book to the Secretary General of the United Nations
Organisation on the occasion of its Golden Jubilee Celebrations as an
offering towards a new global order based on Maitri (Friendship) among
nations leading to a new millennium of peace and prosperity for humankind
as a whole.
