About this Item
A handbill distributed ahead of a conference of the Institute of Human Relations, sponsored by the Chicago Round Table of Jews and Christians, concerning the radical affiliations of the conference's organizers and speakers as collected in Elizabeth Dilling's red scare opus, The Red Network (1937). Specifically targeted are the Rev. Ernest Fremont Tittle, James M. Yard and the Rt. Rev. Monsignor John A. Ryan. The handbill concludes, "Constant chewing and gnawing at the foundation of the strongest structure eventually weakens it, and if continued long enough causes the inevitable crash leaving a mass of ruins. American Citizens, What of the Future? Printed in black on fragile, pulp stock (6" x 8"). Hand correction to Tittle's last name, toning to stock, else Fine. Seller Inventory # 9653
