Synopsis:

Dan Brown's "The Solomon Key" is forthcoming, and like "The Da Vinci Code", draws on ancient arcana and secret societies tied to a modern conspiracy. These two classic texts of the occult shed further light on Brown's source materials. A. Bothwell-Gosse's "The Knights Templars" includes chapters on the beliefs, customs, rituals, symbolisms, and history of this organization, reputed to be the spiritual predecessors of the Freemasons. "The Key Of Solomon The King" is Samuel Liddell MacGregor Mathers' translation of a set of ancient manuscripts found in the British Museum. Some believe these to be the words and instructions of King Solomon himself. The secrets contained in the works of these two scholars of speculative matters have fuelled many modern conspiracy theories, with tendrils reaching from the Vatican to the Founding Fathers.

About the Authors:

A.(Amy) Bothwell-Gosse, a Mason of the eighteenth grade, and publisher of the magazine "the Speculative Mason", and founder of the Order of Ancient Free and Accepted Masonry, is also the author of THE CIVILIZATION OF THE ANCIENT EGYPTIANS. A Scottish Templar (one of the orders that admit women), she died in 1954.
Her history is considered a seminal chronological text of the Templars and early Freemasonry.

Samuel Liddell MacGregor Mathers (1854-1918) translated "the Key" from manuscripts that were available in the British Museum collection. A ranking member of the Rosicrucians, MacGregor Mathers also published works on such matters of arcana as the Kabbalah and the Tarot.
