Paperback. Deep in the mountains of Ashigara, a boy named Kintaro grows up with strength beyond his years - strong enough to wrestle bears, lift boulders with ease, and bend trees into bridges for his animal friends. But when a traveling warrior discovers him, Kintaro must decide whether to leave the only home he has ever known. This beautifully illustrated bilingual retelling of one of Japan's best-loved folktales follows Kintaro's journey from a fearless mountain child to Sakata no Kintoki, one of Japan's most celebrated warriors - a story that has inspired generations of children to believe that true strength is always paired with kindness. Featuring gentle watercolor and sumi ink illustrations and side-by-side English and Japanese text, this book is perfect for bedtime reading, language learning, and sharing Japan's rich storytelling tradition with children ages 7-12. This is Book 20 - the twentieth and final tale in the Kogetsu Japanese Tales series, a collection of Japan's most treasured folktales retold for young readers around the world. -- Kogetsu Japanese Tales20 This item is printed on demand.
