About this Item
'May, 1900. Vol. No. 2.' 'Monthly Illustrated Monographs.' 40 numbered pages, excluding three unnumbered full pages of advertisements at the front, and three at the rear. Once listed, this will be the Only 'monograph' or magazine for sale anywhere on the Internet. You can see the covers in the photos. The front cover has a thin stain coming down from its top edge. The yellow or amber outline at the center coming down from the top edge is a church with a cross at the very top. As you can see, there are small losses at the corners of the front cover. There are several thin tears off the front bottom edge. There are a few small tears just adjacent to the spine. There are small tears on the spine, one small loss on the front just adjacent to the spine. Most of the spine is present, tears have separated part of the bottom 3 inches, half of it could be glued back into place if one possess the skills and desire. Off the top edge of the spine the paper is only missing over the top 1/2 inch. You can also see the rear cover in the photos. I don't have to be too detailed. There is a loss at the bottom corner, a 2 inch tear off the middle edge. The rear cover looks pretty clean. The binding of the magazine is stapled, four staples. The pages are exceptionally well bound as a result, nicely tight throughout, no issues. The covers on the other hand, have detached from the textbook (I guess I can call it that). The front and the rear cover are not detached from one another. The pages are in very good shape. Unlike the covers, tears are not an issue. There is a teeny tiny one (1/8th") off the bottom edge of the first page of advertisements, and I think that's it. The pages are very clean. I'm not finding any soiling. I should also mention that they don't have the fold-line that is common with these large, tall magazines. The last four pages of views do have a thin crease just off their top corner, going about 1 1/4 inches the across, not near the print or the photographs. That's the only creasing, there's little bit of crinkling here and there, nothing much of anything. I don't see any losses. There are no markings. No attachments. And no one has written their name or anything else anywhere in the magazine, or monograph if you like. This issue is 'Presented', as you can see, by The Bradstreet Company, Charles F. Clark, President. I'm not seeing any specific reference to the number of photographs. So, I compulsively counted them. I believe there are 148. They are all in excellent condition. While the magazine is all about Paris, France, as opposed to Paris, Texas, it is in English. Here is a random sampling of just a few of the photographs: Tomb of Emperor Napoleon I, The Pantheon, Palace Of the Trocadero, La Bourse, Louvre Palace, Place Du Carrousel, The Arch And Gambetta Monument, Church Of Saint Madeleine, Cathedral of Notre Dame, Avenue Des Champs-Elysees, The Hotel Saint Paul, Panorama of the City Hall, Colonnade Of the Louvre, Funeral of President Carnot, Carnival of Mardi-Gras, Prefecture of the Seine. It's all quite impressive. Seller Inventory # 005023
