nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - ''King Alfred's Version of The Consolations of Boethius'' is a book written by Walter J. Sedgefield. It is a translation of the Old English version of the ''Consolation of Philosophy'' by Boethius, which was translated by King Alfred the Great in the 9th century. The book includes an introduction to Boethius and his work, as well as a discussion of the Old English language and its literary significance. The translation itself is presented in a modern English prose style, making it accessible to contemporary readers. It was written by Boethius, a Roman statesman and philosopher, while he was in prison awaiting execution. The work has been influential throughout history, and this translation offers a unique perspective on it through the lens of Old English literature and King Alfred's translation.Originally Written In Latin By Boethius, This Philosophical Work Was Translated Into Old English By King Arthur In The 9th Century.
