Print on Demand. This book follows Eleanor Crawford, a young woman living in 19th century Northern Ireland whose faith is tested by the confines of her strict Methodist upbringing. After her mother's death, Eleanor begins to question the tenets of her religion, leading her to explore a more personal and meaningful spirituality. The story delves into the history of Methodism in Ireland, contrasting Eleanor's experiences with the struggles of early Methodists and their battle against religious persecution. It explores the themes of religious conformity, the search for spiritual fulfillment, and the role of women in a patriarchal society. Through Eleanor's journey, the book ultimately sheds light on the complexities of reconciling one's beliefs with the realities of life. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.…

Eleanor smiled. Mrs. North did not seem to her to be so overweighted by household cares or active employment; but she answered civilly, if a little con strainedly, Thank you, Mrs. North. I, too, am always busy; for when my father is at home, I seldom leave him; and when he is away, I find many things to keep me occupied in the hours left after my daily duties at Miss Henley's school.
