While writing this book, I learned that Ma Ma, as young wife and mother, really didn t know much about cooking, but Practice makes perfect and she got a helpful hand from GrandMa. This is where I began learning about cooking: watching Ma Ma, GrandMa, and my aunt. Ma always wanted her kids to be self-sufficient. I really didn t start cooking until my mother had to go the hospital for a major surgery, after preparing different dishes for church events, birthday parties, and special requests. So here s to you, Ma. Those was the good days. Nowadays we aware of heart disease, high cholesterol, sodium, calorie counts, and high blood pressure. But we can still have fun and enjoy a healthy meal without so much of this or that. Enjoy and see how healthy these recipes are.
