Item description from seller

pp.22. Small 4to. A handwritten transcription of Macvicar’s much respected ‘A Key to British Hepaticae’ which first appeared in the ‘Journal of Botany’ in 1901. Contents fine, bound in stiff card covers in nr. fine condition. Comes with an original copy of the fascinating (12-page) Associates’ Card for the Yorkshire Naturalists’ Union (for 1932) which details who did what within the Union. 16mo. Softback in nr. fine condition. We believe the transcription was undertaken by Nicholas Martin Cuthbert (1877-1952), a methodist preacher, polymath and conductor of the York Choral Society. The transcription then came into the possession of Herbert Stansfield (b.1860), choir master at York Minster (from 1893) and a member of the York and District Field Naturalists’ Society, then remained in the family until we purchased it.
