Bookplate to front paste-down belonging to John Waldie, who is mentioned in the section entitled Testimonials to Official Characters, pp. 193-194, ".for the purpose of presenting Mr John Waldie, banker and town treasurer of Kelso, with a tribute from his fellow-townsmen, of their gratitude for his public services to the community of this place, and esteem for his personal worth." Also with an additional bookplate below reading Topography, Travels, &c., No. 1624. Half inch of calf missing spine head, some short splits to the outer hinges, both upper and lower ends, small break to lower front corner, light foxing to bookplate, calf slightly rubbed, else vg. 450.00.
