Kathavatthu, translated as "Points of Controversy," is a significant text within the Theravada Buddhist tradition. This volume, originally published in Pali, presents a detailed examination of various philosophical and doctrinal disagreements among early Buddhist schools. Compiled during the reign of Emperor Ashoka, the Kathavatthu forms a crucial part of the Abhidhamma Pitaka, the collection of texts focused on Buddhist philosophy and psychology.

This edition, carefully edited, offers invaluable insights into the historical development of Buddhist thought and the diverse interpretations of the Buddha's teachings. It remains an essential resource for scholars and practitioners interested in exploring the nuances of early Buddhist philosophy and the evolution of Theravada Buddhism.
